Our Beliefs
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Colossians 1:12-14
Statement of Faith
There is only One True God
We believe there is one Eternal God, who has revealed Himself as "Father", through "Jesus" His Son (God manifested in the flesh - fully God and fully man), and through His "Spirit" (the Holy Ghost). 1 Timothy 3:16; Colossians 2:9-10
The Word of God
We believe the Bible is the infallible and inherent Word of God. Our creed, discipline, and rule of doctrine is according to its contents. The Word of God is revealed by the Holy Ghost (John 14:26 and 1 Corinthians 2:9-16); it is preached in the conversion of sinners (1 Corinthians 1:21, 4:15), and to strengthen and mature saints.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
– 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The Church - The Body of Christ
We believe there is only one Church – one body of Christ, made up of all those of every nation, kindred, and tongue, who have truly received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour – and have truly been born again. – 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 and 2 Timothy 2:19.
Jesus is the Founder and Foundation of the Church: 1 Corinthians 3:11 and Ephesians 2:19-22.
Jesus is the “Head” of the Church: Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:15-16; Colossians 1:18-19.
The Atoning Blood of Christ
We believe in the Atoning Blood of Christ. The life is in the blood (Genesis 9:4). The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Therefore, without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin (Matthew 26:28). However, instead of my own life being given for my sin, Jesus died in my place, and thus destroyed the enmity between God and I, that now, I am able (through the blood of Christ), to approach unto God, be accepted in His beloved (the Church), and by His Spirit be transformed into His child (2 Peter 1:3-4), and therefore receive the “gift of God”, even eternal life.
The Future
We have eternal souls, and after death we will live eternally somewhere, whether that be in heaven or hell. There is an eternal world (heaven is real), and there will be eternal rewards for His saints. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord: 2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:20-24; Psalms 90:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
We believe that though Jesus does come to us in His Spirit (John 14:16-18), He will also return in literal display before the world, and will judge in righteousness: Acts 1:11; Daniel 7:13-14; Mark 13:26; Revelation 1:7; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; Matthew 10:28, 5:22,29.
The Virgin Birth
We believe in the virgin birth as spoken of in Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 1:26-38. We believe that Mary the mother of Jesus was a mortal human being – a woman like any other woman, except that her life pleased the Lord in such a way that she found favor in the eyes of God.
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
- John 14:16-18
